Recent days have seen young people in China being fervent with “Hachimi”—furry pets, and various short videos showing the daily life of pets have been posted by young people on manifold social media platforms. To show their intense love for furry animals, young people in these videos claim that they have given birth to these pets and treat them in motherly caring manner. While recent years have seen young people in China become increasingly interested in pets, their attitudes towards child-birth have been remarkably cold and depressing.
